I have them in the ground in California. They are very tough and require little care except to cut off stalks or dead leaves. 

I bought some of the waxed bulbs from Trader Joe's at Easter. About $10 each, nice Easter gifts. They bloomed beautifully. I cut the flowers stalks off after they bloomed, peeled off the wax and put them in pots of potting mix.  Two are blooming again, one is just sulking but hasn't died. Fun.
