Please repost the photo of the rose that is changing. Thanks.

Jazzmom, I put the pot with the plant into a cart as the canes of the pink rose are very long. In one picture, you will see that. In another, you will see the white flowers of Iceberg and the pink rose. The other is only a close up of the rose bloom.

I noticed that today too with the elongation of our photos.
I see the long canes on the pink rose; its definitely one plant in the pot? In other words, you removed it from the ground and examined the roots? They are all emerging from the root system?
I guess you haven't heard from Heirloom then.
I would be curious to know what they say. Did you post the photos on the Gardenweb Rose forum at Houzz? Sometimes people answer with more knowledge than myself.

Yes, the pink rose cane sprouted from a cane of the Iceberg rose, not from the ground as I posted before, but from the cane. The rose is in a three gallon black plastic pot which is where I put very young plants, in various size black pots, until they reach a size that I believe they are able to cope with the elements. It arrived in a very small pot from Heirloom, along with seven other Iceberg roses. Until the pink rose appeared, it was totally an Iceberg rose. Very weird.
I will post the outcome, just havn't sent the second email and picture yet, but I will soon. I like the pink rose, but just want a replacement Iceberg to plant with the rest in a particular area, and I think Heirloom will oblige. It better, because over the past year and a half I have spent a small fortune in an effort to replace my previous rose garden, and more.
I havn't gone to Gardenweb yet, been very busy around here, but I will, as I am curious to see if anyone has experienced such an event. ![]()

mousiegirl, what happened to your previous rose garden?
I know where I live, many lost their landscapes if they lived in South coastal areas of LI due to the storm surges of Sandy.

It died due to neglect. I had a fabulous garden at one time, but then DD came along, late in my life
, and I managed for a while, but then it was just trying to keep plants alive, but I think I neglected to drip water the roses as often as they needed it, and eventually all but a few died, along with a ton of other plants. It was about twelve years before I began to rejuvenate the entire garden, creating new beds, (in the process), and replacing plants, etc. The plants that survived for so many years were divided or tossed, depending on their condition, and I have been growing replacements in one gallon pots this year, to be planted in the Fall and/or next Spring.
I was too busy and tired, lol, running DD around here and there, and being a room Mom, that it wasn't until she was older that I actually had some time. She is pushing twenty now, in college, so I do have more time, but there is never enough time nor energry to get everything done every day, so with me it is priorioties, garden first, lol, and pups, then housework, and many days that just waits. ![]()
It has been so hot lately that all I am doing outside is watering when necessary, and that is almost every day here and there, so I have been trying to get organized inside after a remodeling project over tha last year and a half, so much clutter yet to be dealt with, but I am determined to get it done before Fall planting time. ![]()

I hear ya mousiegirl, how having kids interferes with our hobbies!!
Actually I think some of this rubbed off on one child-- now 27-- he is growing in a pot on his windowsill at the lab where he is doing graduate work-- a hybrid tomato seed from U Florida that was hybridized for yield, taste and for not deteriorating on the shelves quickly at the supermarket. He got 2 packages of seeds for $10 and he has about19 seeds left in his fridge. He wants to give me them for my use next year. He even sent me a photo today with the subject saying-- You see it is growing!!
With the heat we have been having, I've been doing what I call 20 minute gardening--- fill bird feeders, change the water in the 2 birdbaths and throw water on newly planted rose and tomato plant that was transplanted from being next to a shrub-- it was a volunteer and now is in the veggie garden. It is alive and still green-- its not as wilty today.

How wonderful to see one's child accomplishing something great, and it would be, because finding a tasty tomato is almost impossible. Right now, DD isn't at all interested, but I bet one day, she will be and will then understand my passion. ![]()
I go to a produce market to get them, but I don't get there often enough as it is a way to go, and of course those tomatoes are expensive, but every summer, I can't resist getting some of the large beefsteak to slice with avocado. I hope your volunteer produces.![]()
I used to grow wonderful tomatoes, but last year I tried, and the skins were tough, so if DH ever gets around to building a few raised boxes, I will try again.
One of my bird baths seems to dry up every day, so either the birds are drinking a lot in the evening, or the blazing sun is drying it out. It isn't leaking, I checked on that. I am going to put one on our front deck on top of a small garden table for the birdies in that area, so will see if they find it.
It is a ceramic wide shallow bowl with birds on the edge that I found at Home Goods, so I thought the little ones could use it. I once set a pyrex pie plate on a raised board, and the chickadees used it all of the time.

In the winter months, I've used a giant PVC saucer from a large PVC pot that is about 1.5" deep and flat on the bottom. I usually put a brick below it to raise it up slightly and then put the deicer in and plug it into a nearby GFI outlet. I refill the water at least daily. Most times during the winter the birds come to drink and not bathe. I even get a few squirrels that come into the yard, take a few drinks and then leave!
I love growing my tomatoes and peppers in the ground. Yes, the 'volunteer' will most likely produce once they start ripening up.
