@ECBG Thank you, but I think fertilization is the reason, really makes a huge difference. ![]()

So beautiful! I have the opposite problem. I have a very old and large hydrangea that I think has died. Fifteen years ago when I moved into this house it bloomed, not a nice as yours, but still. The next year only a few blooms and then it stopped getting any flowers at all, but the leave come up nicely. This year there has been nothing at all. I decided to cut it almost to the ground. The stems even look dead but I am not sure if it will come back. What do you think? Is there anything I can do to help it along?

@Biftu Do you normally cut it back? Some hydrangeas bloom on new wood, some on old, and some on both. Fertilizing does wonders. I just happen to use Cottage Farms acidic fertilizer, but of course anything suitable for hydrangeas will work. Hydrangeas are pretty tough, so it may come back. If it does, I wouldn't cut it again or you may cut off the buds for the following year's blooms. Please google as you will get more thorough information than I can give. ![]()
there is excellent information on google for anything, which is what I do if I have a question about growing/planting something.

I have a 'Pistachio' as well awaiting bloom! 'Wedding Gown' was cut almost to the ground due to dead stems. It's now at 18" high and surprise surprise -- it blooms on new wood! I am waiting to see white flowers soon.
