Matjila Poppies - do not grow these unless you have a wild area that you don't intend for anything else to grow in.  They are rampant, and almost impossible, if not impossible, to get rid of should one ever want to.  We are fighting the battle now because I didn't listen to the garden center years ago when I bought one plant, and of course, planted it in the wrong place.  They are a fabulous sight to see when in bloom en masse, but now I hate them.DSCF4275.JPG

Yes, lucymo, a much nicer name than Nigella which is the name on the seed packet. Smiley Happy  I had never seen a goldfinch before, but one year a large group appeared for the seeds of this flower, and the large bird bath I once had.  I recorded them for quite a while, big thrill for me.
