Much needed rain and other visitors at lakeside

We got some much needed rain today which perked the garden up.

Yesterday, while reading at the lake, I saw an unusual sight.  A seaplane dropped by to visit neighbours.  Got some photos watching it come and go, praying all the while that the pilot knew the lake as there are places where large boulders lurk hidden just below surface level.  LM

Lilysmom

Everything in your lovely garden looks refreshed, tranquil, healthy and inviting!!!!!

Great picture ot the seaplane, yes, I would also hope the pilot knows the body of water he or she lands at.  It must be a very large lake to allow a sea plane to land.

@spiderw , to be honest, I hope we don't see planes on a regular basis.  While we are not crowded by any means, there is a lot of swimming (including me) going on here and small craft like kayaks, canoes, seadoos, etc. and I don't think it is safe for the two to mix. Once is ok.  More often, not so much.  LM

@Lilysmom   I was wondering if a pilot could see a swimmer in the water.  Like you say, wouldn't want that to become a regular occurrence.

Garden looks great!

Re: Much needed rain and other visitors at lakeside

@Kachina624 , no way would I be seen by a plane.  I just put my black baseball hat into the back of the closet and pulled out my fluorescent yellow cap.  I usually do my long swim in the early morning so it is just me, the loons and the ducks.  I also swim the shoreline but am out fairly far as there are boulders along the shoreline.  The rest of the time, I generally stay close to my property.

The plane would definitely need to keep an eye out for seadoos pulling inflated donuts with kids on them.  Fast moving, out for fun, not safety conscious.

I expect the sighting was a novelty and will not be a regular sight.  LM
