Are you seeing the same at your home too?  We have flowers out, but hubby planted them. Which is ok, the birds and butterflies don't care who planted them. LOL

Monarch's here also (Chicago) first year in quite awhile, wish I had some Hummingbirds

I'm not sure why but I haven't had very many hummingbirds so far this year. I haven't seen any monarchs yet. I've seen a few of the small light yellow butterflies.

Lots of both in CA this year too. I planted lots of Butterfly Bush all around our place and they love it (and so do I). The Trumpet Vine also seems to be a favorite hang out for both. Plant these two in your yard and welcome nature in!

Our butterfly bushes are the gathering place for all the neighborhood monarchs.

Our roses are the gathering place for all the neighborhood Japanese beetles.
