@Lilysmom, your garden is so pretty, and looks so cool and comfortable, I'd love even 80's temps over 90's and very humid!

@LIG1, these were given to me by a gardening friend too.  They are so lovely.  They are surrounded by wild irises that I took from my brother’s seaside cottage.  He is gone now so that makes them extra special!  LM

@JustJazzmom, I just looked up Alianthus tree.  It is only vaguely familiar to me.  Somewhat similar to ash although with a bigger trunk.  I will look for this now.  LM

@Lilysmom  When I was in Vancouver last year in fall, I saw these vibrant red trees/large bushes and was wondering what they were.  Do you live up in the Northwest and could this be it?

You do have a beautiful garden.

@CLEM, hi.  The red tree is Bloodgood, a Japanese maple.  They are so pretty and, in the fall, they turn electric red.  These trees work well as an understory tree.  This one is beneath a huge and oak tree with a huge canopy of twisted branches.  The oak protects it from wind.

The crimson lace maple is another favorite.  See below.  It is supposed to get as wide as it is high (15’ I think).  I have this one under a huge maple.  They are such pops of color in the landscape.

I am in Nova Scotia, northeast coast.  I love Vancouver too!  LM
