@JustJazzmom , I had my trip to the nursery seeking Japanese Maples and came back with Kinshi (which is very much like Koto No Ito) and Aureum Full Moon Maple. I think my next purchase is Waterfall.

I think our mini maple is that one you have because it's that color. Love both so pretty. Nice additions for your landscape.

@Lilysmom1 I like the Full Moon one. Very pretty lime green! The other one looks too lacy for me.

I like the Full Moon one better too. I have one of the burgundy lace-leaf ones in a container in my garden. I planted one in the back yard when we moved here and after about 13 years it just decilined and then didn't come back. The replacement one I bought died pretty quickly, so I gave up on that spot. The one in the container is in the front yard and gets full sun which was one reason I went with a container since they claim to prefer shade or part shade.

@JustJazzmom @Icegoddess @godi , we planted them today after waiting a few days for cooler weather. DH likes the Full Moon better also. They both go orange, gold in autumn which will be a nice contrast to all the red maples.
I think we have very good locations for them and I am excited to see them in the Fall.
On another note, I planted several rhodos this year. Those and others I have in the gardens are doing very well with many more blooms than normal. I upped the watering last year during very dry spells and it paid off. I usually have more luck with hydrangeas than rhodos. I am finding Nova Zembla, PJM and Helsinki doing well. S
PS, this is Waterfall in the Fall...

@Icegoddess , don't blame you for giving up. I had the same experience with zebra grass. Twice in the same location, twice failed. That was it for me and zebra grass. Your experience was much more expensive than mine! S

@Lilysmom1 looks to be 3 season plants. Very nice orange shade.

I love them! I have one, not sure what kind, and it's a definite show stopper all year-round. Our hot temps won't allow a lot of different kinds but I've found one that likes it here. Just stopped making the little "propellers", they're so cute! Yours are beautiful!
