Re: JUST SAW A HUMMINGBIRD LOOKING FOR THE FEEDER...

Guess I better get my feeder out.  I've always heard they follow the Ohio Buckeyes blooming and mine hasn't bloomed yet, but I checked the sighting map and see one was spotted about 30 miles away.

You can check for your area on the sighting map. Just Google Hummingbird Sighting Map 2022.

Re: JUST SAW A HUMMINGBIRD LOOKING FOR THE FEEDER...

My guys hang around all year.  This year is has been striking how they ebbed and flowed.  Right now there is basically no one here.  A few weeks ago they were eating a bottle every two days.

Re: JUST SAW A HUMMINGBIRD LOOKING FOR THE FEEDER...

@Othereeeen , I'm in Central Florida.   I usually don't have them until late April,  early May...so im very surprised they're here.  So far I think its 2 of them.  Last season I did get alot more hummingbirds than I've ever had here...I was constantly making their elixir.  So im expecting another good turn out.  They also leave early,  late August, maybe early September.

@Dazlin   I'm so sorry to read that your mother is ill.  I hope she has seen a doctor by now.

I need to check my notes, but I think the hummingbirds will be here in East TN in a couple of weeks.  It's always so interesting to see them flying around the spot where the feeders always are.  It's amazing to me that they instinctively remember.

Re: JUST SAW A HUMMINGBIRD LOOKING FOR THE FEEDER...

@NickNack , thank you for thoughts about my mother.  She was put on antibiotics, only spoke on phone with dr. ..but she needs to be seen,  since she has not improved.  I hope its not her heart.   It's going to be up to her because she'll likely need an ambulance,  just too weak.  She HATES hospitals and drs, so it's very concerning for me, and extremely frustrating.

As for the precious birds, I'm really enjoying the activity.  Hummingbirds are feeding, I think maybe 2 or 3 so far.  The bluebird baby is feathered out, and pretty big.   I assume he may fledge any day now.  The chickadees nest is busy, busy feeding those babies...I got watch them this morning 🙂   Hope you are doing well...I didn't see you on Amoung Friends anymore,  so I was hoping to hear back about you and your decision on seeing a specialist.   Please take care!!

@Dazlin  I hope your mother will see her doctor or go to the ER and get the help she needs.

I appreciate your asking about my health and thinking about me.  I haven't been posting as much since my surgery.  I did see my PCP.  I told her that I had discovered a wide fluctuation in my pulse.  It has gone from 40-149 according to my Apple Watch.  This has gone on since I got the watch on 11/3/21, but I hadn't paid any attention or realized it until my kidney surgery.

She did an EKG and found that I had Premature Ventricular Contractions (PVCs), which are extra heartbeats.  I also have brachy-trachy, which means that my pulse varies like I described.  She did a test where I laid down on the table while the Medical Assistant took my blood pressure and pulse, then I sat up and then stood up while she did the same thing.  There was a wide variance, which she said shouldn't be that way.

She said that I absolutely needed to see a Cardiologist, and she sent in a referral.  This was last Tuesday, and I haven't heard anything yet.  I am going to call this morning to make sure it was sent in.

She thinks my heart issues have been the cause of all of my symptoms.  I'm so glad I bought my watch, or I still wouldn't know what was going on.  I honestly haven't felt good since last June or July.

Re: JUST SAW A HUMMINGBIRD LOOKING FOR THE FEEDER...

My wife asked my what I want for Easter. One of the thing's I asked for was some hummingbird feeders. I have never had any before. I have seen them on our trumpet tree.so we will see how it goes. I have seen people use equal parts on sugar and water simple syrup. What do you guys use? And I have seen the nector can be bought.for us it will be a while before hummingbirds are up this way in Rhode Island.

@NickNack ...I wish you lived closer ,perhaps I could be somewhat helpful.  I'm very relieved your seeking help, and don't quit until you receive results positively.  I read your post on among friends, im following.   As for my mother..😔...I got her to dr...Dr...they don't know what is going on on with her. Keep changing her meds, etc.  I don't want to go on into detail here...just imagine a mess.  I will be praying for you !!

Re: JUST SAW A HUMMINGBIRD LOOKING FOR THE FEEDER...

@Pooky1 ...just boil 4 cups of water then add 1 cup sugar till dissolved.   Let that cool and dispense into your hummingbird feeders.   I love and highly recommend the hummzinger feeder...its a flat saucer type feeder.  Look on Amazon.   Don't buy pre made...make it yourself fresh!

I would post pics ..but they'll likely get poofed.
