I live in PA, and it's still relatively warm, but I'm pretty sure we will have a frost within the next 3 weeks. I'm sorry to say, I'm just tired of doing the whole fertilizer thing every 10 days. It takes FOREVER. I've always sworn by Jacks, but I might get a time-release next year. The tomatoes are starting to see lots of leaf damage, but the calibrachoa, agastache and lantana look really great. I'm just weary.
Am I a slacker? What about you?
ETA: My Sunpatiens and double impatiens in the shade are doing well too.

NOW is the time to stop fertilizing..............

This year BJ's didn't have the huge bags of MiracleGro potting soil that I've always planted my Sunpatiens in, so I bought MiracleGro garden soil. What a mistake! Once I decided that it wasn't the plants' fault, I bought the MiracleGro fertilizer that attaches to your hose. I started using it in late July or early August and still have plenty of the original supply left. It's very easy to use - I just use it instead of plain water every week or so. You would not believe the difference! EVERYTHING has new life, even the herbs and the one Sunpatiens plant that the deer munched on. I'm going to fertilize them later this week, since it'll be warm here for at least the next few weeks. Give it some thought for next year.

@Eileen in Virginia Thanks for the detailed information! I used to use Micacle Gro hose attachment when I had a large veggie garden and extensive flower beds. I'm down to hanging baskets and pots on my patio, but I might consider going back to using the hose attachment. I like the Jack's fertilizer so much, but lugging around the watering can gets old after doing it for so many weeks. ![]()

I have so many different plant fertilizers and Holly Tone bags for different plantings and to be honest, I never use them.
My hanging Boston Ferns are the size of small SUVs, my houseplants will need to be broken up and re-potted as they are huge and all my planters outside and in the ground are doing fine.
No fertilizer needed. Ever!
