Ohmigod. I am moving. My gardener, when I had roses, made about $125/week.

DH and I do our own basic gardening. If we go away for a couple weeks, we have someone mow. I think it's $35. If we need trees removed or trimmed, we pay the going rates for that.

We have a large yard and pay $65 for it to be mowed and trimmed. He only comes when we call him and I like it that way because the need for it to be done is all dependent on the rain. I don't want to pay for a monthly ""service"" when nothing really needs to be done.

Around here, the cost is $75.00 a week for one man to mow - he does nothing else. Otherwise, it runs at least $10.00 to $15.00 per hour per person for other things like trimming, weeding, fertilizing, etc.
DH works like a hired man in our yard - he is 95 now, and goes out in his overalls and plaid shirt with the mandatory straw hat and loves every minute of it. He's a very underpaid yard man.

My lawn guy charges $38 to mow the lawn each week and it does need it. I have a large back yard and I think his price is reasonable. He charges separately for trimming the hedges around the front yard and that charge varies. Depends on how much trimming they need. He also shovels snow in the winter. This guy is a real gem.

We live in OK, and have a large ranch house and surrounding yard on a cul-de-sac with sidewalks and brick mail boxes (extra edging). We pay him $35 for mowing/edging/blowing, and he needs to come about every 10 days in the mid summer. In late spring and fall, he only needs to come about every 2-3 weeks. He works in our neighborhood and knows how we like the yard, so he does it as needed based on the weather and season.
In the fall, he charges $40 to blow up and bag the leaves.
I usually plant my own annuals and do weed maintenance myself, but he will do all the flower beds for $65 (planting the annuals I've bought and cleaning out before he plants).

NJ, mostly wooded .75 acre lot. Very small front lawn neat the street, nothing to cut in the back. $35.00 every two weeks to mow, blow and go. Extra, of course. for spring and fall clean ups.
I priced around and this is good- no price increase in the seven years I have used them. The price is better than the service. They will remove branches or pull a few weeds at no additional charge if I ask.
