Hollyhocks

Good Morning --

I just wanted to share that my hollyhocks are blooming! I'm so excited!!

My mother lives in the Reno area, and I love seeing her plants. But, I was unable to locate any in my area (So. CA), so I ordered from an online nursery. However, my soil is the pits ... clay and very rocky! It's taken a couple years to get two plants strong enough to produce flowers, but well worth it. I was so happy yesterday when a neighbor commented on them.

The second plant has blooms, which should start opening in the coming week. I can't wait to see what color they will be. The first plant is a dark red flower.

Thanks for reading ... only other gardeners know how excited we get over our plants!
