Re: Have you started your Spring cleaning yet?

I refuse to spring clean while there's snow on the ground. My new rule. Besides, being retired, I just keep up with stuff as we go along. I don't do spring cleaning anymore, just realized that, thanks, now I appreciate retirement even more. LOL It was magic, it just happened!! woohoo.

Re: Have you started your Spring cleaning yet?

Yes! I actually started my spring cleaning...a few years ago!

I have yet to get through everything I want to do. I'm doing more than cleaning. Major weeding out of things and reorganizing what I am keeping to make my life easier & less stressful are biggies. I'm replacing things that are broken/worn out. It is a lot of work but it is making a big difference.

Once I started working, spring cleaning stopped in this house. Once a month I try to get to one of the more difficult cleaning jobs, and keep up with the overall cleaning as best I can.

Re: Have you started your Spring cleaning yet?

I'm working on it a room at a time. A local cleaning service had a newspaper ad which showed 50 items they'll do when cleaning your house. I made several copies and use it as a checklist to keep me on task. For some reason marking things off makes me feel like I've accomplished something. Of course they don't do laundry, the garage or lawn so I'll add those items.

Re: Have you started your Spring cleaning yet?

When SusanLouise said "Life is good" I know exactly what she means. To me, there is not a more satisfying day than to do a good hard days work, take a shower and then have a great meal. Here in Mo. it is summer again today. Yesterday and today has been spent cleaning flower beds, the rock garden and water feature. No doubt, we will still see some winter days and even maybe snow, but at least this much is done and I will be ready to plant all my Sun Patients from Cottage farms. They will add so much color to the flower beds and pots.

Re: Have you started your Spring cleaning yet?

Yesterday's weather was spring-like, today cold and tonight we may get 3" of snow and sleet. I hope it's the last blast this winter!

I raked the leaves from our front yard. The leaves are from the neighbor's trees. It was 5 yard bags of leaves. (Last fall I bagged all the back yard leaves from our maple, so the back yard is pretty good)

I've only been de-cluttering. I still want to wash walls, wash window treatments, clean carpets and tile & wood floors. Still a lot to go.

Re: Have you started your Spring cleaning yet?

Just have the formal dining room to deep clean: cathedral ceiling literally gives me a neck pain even with the extension pole. Then, it's take apart the breakfront and clean the glassware and glass shelves. Then off to Panera's for coffee and an orange scone and my book for a quiet respite!
