Have you had success with Jack in the Pulpit?

I saw seedlings in a garden catalogue and I'm intrigued.

If you have had success - or failure - with these, please share - thanks!

Re: Have you had success with Jack in the Pulpit?

I don't know much!   But when I was a young girl my mom spotted Jack along a dirty road - dug it up and planted in the garden.  Doing so I believe was illegal b/c they are/were a protected plant.

However, it thrived - that portion of garden was rather shaded - big maple trees all around - but it did catch some sun late afternoon.

Google for more and better info.  I saw Jack pop up out of his cave - don't recall for how long in the season.

Have fun

I am in WV, and as a child found Ladyslipper, Jack in the Pulpit, and wild orange honeysuckle growing on this piece of property where I built my home.   They were all beautiful flowers!

All were left alone, but eventually died out.

Thanks everyone!

I ended up ordering some different things - Indian pinks and cardinal flowers - but if I have room left I'll order some jacks and report back how it goes.
