Growing moss?

I've been gardening for more years than I want to admit, but I never paid too much attention to moss ( the green stuff that grows in shady areas, not portulaca (sp?) the flower that blooms). I'm thinking about transplanting some into a miniature pot and keeping it on a shady windowsill, but I don't know how to care for it, how much water? etc. Any tips appreciated. Thanks
