Sooner asked on another thread for climbing roses to use in her area.
"Oh could you help me? My 18-year-old white climbing rose gave up the ghost during the last ice storm. I need to replace it--it grows over a white archway. I would like yellow, white, soft peach probably, not a red or pink. I have pink and red carpet roses on either side along the back and on either side of the archway--about four on each side.
I have a New Dawn growing along the edge of our deck and we always laugh that that rose is going to pull the deck down, and of course ALL the birds want to nest there!
So, if you could give me the names of some good climbers--I would so appreciate it. I'm in zone 7, and we have wind and a hot dry summer (but sprinklers!)."
Look at the Earth Kind roses-- bred to be disease resistant and strong.
