Re: 🌸 FRESH RASPBERRIES 🌸

@cheriere

where do you live?

i live in NYC zone 7B

i have a raspberry and blackberry - is it a bush - vines? stalks?

both are just about finished flowering and i get berries end of june and july

i dont have a lot of space and didnt know that raspberries are notorious trespassers

i have hacked many a new growth stalk since it was creepiing into my flower bulb area

i keep 3 stalks for each plant only

you must have a very large area to let them run free and get enough for a cobbler

all them berries - lucky you

Re: 🌸 FRESH RASPBERRIES 🌸

Those look so good @cheriere and I know your cobbler will be so good!  Maybe a small scoop of vanilla ice cream!

Growing up we had blackberry and rasperry bushes. My Mom would send me, my brother and sister to pick them and we ate more than we brought in the house!😄

I hope all went well yesterday and I do hope your Mom is feeling better💕

@cheriere  I like  how you casually mentioned raspberry cobbler so the rest of us can salivate.
Enjoy your cobbler.  I am sure it will be delicious.  I have some lemons to use up, as we are going to visit DD for the week, so I made lemon bars.  I love those too.

@Yahooey

Thank you.😃❤️

I have both raspberry and blackberry bushes, but they're not growing close to one another.  I do have a large section of each however.  They're both the cultivated type, so the berries do grow quite large and very sweet.  I live in southeastern Ky right on the border of Tennessee.  Our raspberries always come in about a month or so before the blackberries do.

Thank you.😃❤️. I'd sure love to have you ver for some.

Lemons are something I'm envious over.  I love ❤️ lemon everything too!  We have one of the lemon patio trees, but it's unable to produce anything like I'd love to see lol.

Re: 🌸 FRESH RASPBERRIES 🌸

I've been buying organic ones at Sam's and they have been good!  Birds would snap up any I tried to grow.  Probably squirrels too--they would eat anything!

@Kachina624

Thanks 😃❤️

I still have a few bags in the freezer I should probably use up to make the cobbler with and just bring the ripe ones I've picked for them to eat.

It really doesn't take a long time to start getting a lot of fruit from them.  Since you really enjoy raspberries, you should try to put some out.  I'll bet they'd do great where you live.
