 @Kachina624, yes they're an annual.  However, from what I've read you can bring them indoors and then replant them outside again in the spring.  I purchase mine every spring from Home Depot.  They love heat.  When weather gets cooler in the fall you have blooms but less than spring and summer.  I do not have a green thumb, but thanks to these plants it look as though I do.

 

  • They are heat and drought tolerant.
  • They flourish in dry or humid climates.
  • Low maintenance and easy care.
  • Beautiful blooms all season long.
  • Perfect in containers and gardens.
  •  Can grow indoors for the winter.
