Cottage Farms question

I watched a few of the Cottage Farms shows over the past couple of day s and am really interested in purchasing the Hardy Hibiscus and the Hydrangeas. I live in the suburbs of Chicago and was wondering if anyone has purchased these and had them come back after one of our rough winters. There is a one year guarantee (from ship date) so I will have no guarantee the following year if they don’t come back.

Also, the ship date for Chicago is (I think) April 30. I don’t normally plant until first week of June, so what do you do with your plants until then?
