@jlkz, I haven't dried hydrangeas for a long time.  They are very pretty aren't they?  I almost never take flowers in but maybe I should try that this year.  LM

@Lilysmom  They dry themselves, so no problem.  Philip, from Cottage Farms, said that he puts hairspray on them to keep them from shedding, so I will try this soon, as I bring them in every year, and still have some in vases going on two years now. Smiley Happy

@Snicks1, thank you!  I will keep going until I don't enjoy it.  For now, I am happy to putter around and do something most every day.  Love this time of year!  LM

@jackthebear, the hydrangeas are my favorite.  When they bloom, I slow down for the season.  Everything is out now.  It must make you mad about the deer.  My defense is my Labrador retriever.

We usually take a trip in late September.  My neighbors tell us that they see the white tails of the deer heading for our yard.  DH has many apple trees.  They clean us out every year.  They seem to know the minute the dog is gone.   LM

@Lilysmom, so you live in nova scotia,  your gardens are just beautiful, you need to get a duck tollar for a sister or brother to your lab.

@goldensrbest, the duck tollers are nice looking dogs.  I hear they are hyper.  My Lab is chocolate.  It took her four years to settle out.  Quite a surprise to me after having a very placid yellow Lab.  She is 9 now so that is all over thank heavens!  LM
