Hello
I have been thinking to plant on my garden a climbing rose, M46281 first time to do that and here is my question to you:
the place I want to add them to my rose collection is in the middle of my garden, what kind of a climbing “”material” do I need for them to go up?
A trellis is like 150 dollars in my area, is there a more inexpensive item you may recommend for my budget?
I thank you kindly,
Dina

The roses will get eventually 12' high so you do need an arbor to train them on. It may take 3 yrs for these roses to reach the top and over. I used to tie my roses twice a year -- spring and fall.

As they grow, they are going to get heavy. It's possible an inexpensive trellis won't support them. I'd think more in terms of a metal support of some type.

The video had a wooden arbor behind Philip & MaryBeth(?) that is what you need.

@Dinaki, Hello. I must admit that I like to add "different" types of items in my garden. We have an old wooden step ladder. Eight feet tall, I think. It's too rickety to use as a ladder, but I think something like it would be adorable in the middle of your garden in order to support a climbing rose. Just a thought. I can also envision black eyed susans meandering up the other side of the ladder. Good luck to you.

The item number you gave for the roses has a video on that page, before you play it you can see a wooden arbor behind Philip and the hostess (it's not MaryBeth).

@Dinaki Keep in mind that you will have to prune the climber, to remove unwanted branches, and to lighten the weight as they can become very heavy on a trellis, which would require being on a tall ladder, and this is why I don't have mine on a trellis, I just let them become a huge bush.

We have a lovely yellow climbing rose. It is gorgeous! And huge. It grows over a very sturdy wooden archway. I wish my rose bloomed more than one time a year and that it had a fragrance. It is beautiful though!
