These pictures are of a  Royal Padagonia Royal Paulownia or Royal Empress or Padagonian cypress.(not really sure which is correct name)

My father was determined to find out what they were. They can look like large crepe myrtles but are always this lavender color and they grow along the side of the road and grow to enormous heights. They are beautiful but cannot really be grown in a yard unless you have a huge field for a yard! They just keep growing!

Next time you see some great lavender tree along the road, this is probably what it is!Smiley Happy

I think they are violets also.

@bonnielu  Why don't you put a sign up next to the tree and everything else saying something like "Poison for Deer".   Smiley Very Happy

They grow very fast so they have a short life span.
