Hi,
I love the bluebirds. I have order 4 over the years. The problem with the bluebirds that when they start to bloom the flowers are not blue. They are white with a red center. I have called cottage farms every time the new trees start to bloom and they all come out in the same color. Do you know where I can purchase a true bluebird.

Try another mailorder company that sells hibiscus or a good local nursery.
Google Hibiscus syriacus 'Bluebird'
Check with garden watchdog mailorder company website to see how the compan below rates with their consumers.

I ordered the bluebird a few years ago and the blooms were shaped like the freedom and were lavender. My replacement bloomed white like yours.
I've read many reviews stating that the trees were the wrong color. I don't know why customers have so much trouble getting blue.
I do see these in catalogs (for less money). You can read reviews online at the catalog companies websites.
