Always love your gardens, and look forward to seeing them each year. Bought the Maple last year, and this Spring it has lost all it's leaves, so garden center will replace it this Fall. Not sure why it falled to grow, but will try again as I think it's so striking. Bought and planted a Weeping XXXXX Willow this Spring and so far looks really good. Mods don't allow me to put what kind of a Willow ree it is, but you get the drift. Your Maple looks beautiful.[ Full Moon ]

@Lilysmom1   Wow, your garden has really filled in.  By next year, you may be thinning things.  It's absolutely beautiful

I especially like that Korean fir for its interesting texture and the 'Full Moon' Japanese maple for its unusual color.  The dog wood is beautiful too.  So much to see and rave over.

Love your Astillbe.  I have lots of it, but it has come and gone already.  Sure wish it would last longer.

Love your gardens. My flower bed is pitiful this year. Can any gardener out here suggest a good book that has floor plans (for lack of a better word) of annual flower beds? I don't have the proper vision to lay things out so mine is just rows of flowers.

@HLP , add some compost when you plant your Japanese maple.  They are an understory tree so do well with morning sun and shade in the high heat of the day.  They like to be touched close or under big hardwoods like oak or maple.   If it is in hot sun, make sure it gets water.  Good luck!  They are such a great addition to the landscape.  LM
