Are you looking forward to spring?

[ Edited ]

I've finally put my garden to bed for the year and now I'm looking forward to spring, starting around February. I planted some bulbs yesterday and I think they'll be pretty and really eye-catching, especial the row of Empress bulbs I put in front on my white picket fence.

What have you planted that you're really looking forward to, especially if it's new?

Re: Are you looking forward to spring?

Yes...(but I look forward to every season).  My veggie garden was consumed by critters.  I was the local grocery store.  No more veggies in my back yard.  But I am looking forward to the spring flowers.

Seriously Spring? Winter's not here yet? LOL!!!

No I'm not looking forward to Spring. I'm looking forward to some snow with cold weather.

I'm sick of all the rain with humidity we have had this year. Go Away.

Sounds like we will have another mild weather. Weather dot com can not make up their mind what it will do here this winter.

Re: Are you looking forward to spring?

Just packed my bulbs away (glads, cannas and dahlias) so I guess I'll have to check back in spring to see if they show any signs of growth. A friend told me that I'll see a little bit of greening by the stem of those that survived being stored in the garage over winter.

Re: Are you looking forward to spring?

Yes, kind of!  For the 2018 growing season I tried my hand at starting seeds indoors.  I had a great time choosing exactly the varieties I wanted and learning about seed starting.  I have a small grow tent, light and heat mat.  I had pretty good success with my seedlings and ended up with a bumper crop of the most delicious tomatoes and peppers.  I also threw in some Zinnia seeds and haphazardly planted them in my flower garden, they turned out to be the most impressive flowers I had all year!

So yes, I am looking forward to spring!  I am already browsing seed websites and making decisions about what I want to try for 2019.  In my zone we can't plant outside until around Memorial day weekend, so I've got a lot of months to fill before I can get to it.  I plan on enjoying them tooSmiley Wink  I actually enjoy Fall the most!

No.  I like Fall and Winter.  I enjoy all the seasons.  I love my flower beds  But I look forrward to cooler weather and not doing yardwork.

Re: Are you looking forward to spring?

Nope....looking forward to Winter so we can snowbird in FL.  All year long at home I keep a file for stuff to take to FL....administrative stuff to deal with incoming mail once weekly and any ?’s DH comes up with.  Keep it all in an indexed thin binder.

There is a shelf in my closet for the few things I take clothing and accessory-wise.

January can’t come fast enough.

As for Spring, I have seriously downsized my outside stuff: plants that required a lot of attention have new homes.  Since I can’t kneel anymore, my main outside chore is to use the electric clippers to shape the hollies and small Japanese maple.  Placing the few lawn ornaments adds the finishing touch.
