Are the plant/flowers they display real? They seem too perfect.

I remember hearing several years ago that they are NOT real. You are correct--everything does look a little too perfect!

I think maybe sometimes they are and sometimes they aren't.    I don't like the plants being represented by artificial means.  I may be incorrect, but it seems like QVC has started using artificial flowers/plants just in the past couple of years.

They surely didn't fake the luscious, red, juicy strawberries they cut and ate A couple days ago.  My mouth was watering.  I hadn't seen strawberries like that for years.  The ones we get are horrid.

@lavenderfields   I'm never sure which are real and which aren't, but I do remember years back complimenting a planting hanging on the deck my sister-in-law had arrranged.  Turns out it was a combination of real and fake from QVC.  It was one of the fakes I was praising.

I watched Roberta's show on Saturday (I think that's when they were on) and they made sure to say which flowers were real when they were presenting.  It seemed that all of them were.

I agree about the flowers looking fake.  They seem way too perfect.  However, we have to keep in mind that they grow their flowers in greenhouses and force blooms so that they can bring them to QVC.  The flowers have the perfect growing conditions with a lot of fertilizer to make them bigger than we'll ever get them.

I have bought many flowers from Roberta's and Cottage Farms.  They NEVER look anything like what is presented.  Last year was the first year in a long time that I bought nothing from any of the plant companies on QVC.  I stuck with my local nurseries and garden centers and I wasn't disappointed.

Re: Are the flowers real?

[ Edited ]

A few days ago, I heard one of the presenters say that the flowers shown were "representations" of what the plant would look like. I assume that means they are not real, but are fake. That doesn't mean the plants as purchased are bad, they just don't have one growing like it would in the spring and summer.

I assume that sometimes the fully grown plants are real and sometimes they are fake as another poster here was saying.

At intervals, they have a disclaimer at the bottom of the screen that says: Some plants/flowers are artificial due to being out of growing, or blooming season.

It's their effort to replicate what the mature plant should look like. It's really not hard to tell if you look closely when they are doing close-ups.

Rather than have fake plants, I would rather see photographs of the actual plant that they are selling.
