Another Daylilly Question, Dead Dry Leaves

After all the years of having Daylillies, I have a question about dry dead leaves. Always have cleaned them out, it looks so much better. Does anyone else do this? Should I maybe just leave them? It doesn't seem to hurt the plant. They always bloom. Silly question, but appreciate any feedback. Thank You
