I think they are beautiful.  I have tried to have red amaryllis for a few times without any success.  I saw an arrangement of beautiful red faux amaryllis at Costco that I think I will get.

My amaryllis now has 6 huge, dark reddish-orange blooms fully open.  The second stalk is now about 5" taller than the blooming stalk.  Hopefully by the time the first stalk is finishing blooming, the second one will start.  This was an inexpensive, grocery store kit.

This morning I could not resist a white amaryllis kit for $3 at the grocery store.

UPDATE

 The white amaryllis began blooming early December.  It was pretty but the stalks were not as tall and each had 4 blooms.  The stalks bloomed (pretty much) simultaneously,

At the time, the grocery store had a few preplanted amaryllis bulbs for $3.  I bought another orange one.  Well, today both stalks are in full bloom with 3 blooms on each.

I had no amaryllis in bloom for Christmas.  One of these years I'll get the timing right.

Your white amaryllis sound outstanding.  On occasion I will get multiple stalks, but rarely can I get them to bloom at the same time.  I got four bulbs this year, quite by accident.

I purchased two; an inexpensive one locally and a quite expensive one on line, my uncle received two as gifts and gave me one, then my husband bought me one for Christmas.

All were planted after Christmas.  The one my husband bought is a different variety, no leaves and one skinny stalk that produced two smaller flowers.  The huge blub I purchased myself also has no leaves; one stalk is in bloom (4 flowers) and two other stalks are coming up.  The remaining two, one has gotten leaves and a stalk, the other I am not sure is going to do anything.

I usually don't keep the bulbs, but this year will keep the expensive one and the one my husband purchased.  I need to refresh myself on how to maintain them and get them to bloom again next year.

@Allegheny

Good luck with your bulbs, particularly the pricey one. (generally, the cheaper the bulb, the better for me)

I cut back my final Amaryllis yesterday.  I'll bring it outside in the spring.  Occasionally I've had reblooms in late summer.
