What's it used for?  Would you recommend it?

I used to use it to put on my dog's food when I didn't use dog food due to allergies and made chicken, liver and hamburg for her.

I apply it around my spring bulbs after they've bloomed.  (I also deadhead the daffodils, tulips, hyacinths, etc.)  The bulbs use bonemeal for food.  HTH.

As a fertilizer, adds phosphorus to the soil.

You put bonemeal on your pets food?

@SydneyH Several years ago I used bonemeal when planting my bulbs. Fast forward to the next day ~ my dogs couldn't get enough of it and they dug up all of my bulbs. I hear it is good for your bulbs, though, if you don't have dogs. LOL

@pattypeep This is exactly why I dislike bonemeal because animals think another animal is there. I prefer a balanced food called Bulb Food which has the N-P-K needed.

I stopped using it as well.  The critters love it.  My neighbor had the squirrels up on her step digging up planted bulbs lol.  What a mess!  LM
