to my den window behind the computer, so was able to see it's beautiful chest of color.  I wonder if it was asking me to come back with the hose of running water.  This has never happened before.  I have never seen the complete underside of a hummer with wings spread aside from pictures.

@mousiegirl  We have had hummingbirds come to the window to let us know the feeder is out of food.  We watch for that as an indicator to check all the feeders between our routine checks.

End of summer last year noticed several individually  (they look similar)  came to kitchen window where feeder is located and.........just hung there in air flapping wings and looking in window.  Or one would come around screened porch where I was sitting.....and hang there flying.

Could they be saying goodbye for the season and thanks for the juice?  Got me to thinking and then they were gone.

Just saw one at the feeder now..................

Nature encounters like that are a sweet lil blessing, no matter the reason.

It lifts your spirits for the rest of the day in my experience.

You are so lucky!  I have two feeders and I haven't seen many hummers yet.
