2nd day in the Garden

[ Edited ]

Today was was my second big gardening day of the season. We are still in tulip/daffodil mode here so there is not too much color.

I did one yard of mulch on my middle bank and in the area we are repairing from the loss of the spruce trees.

My peacock is hard to photograph well.  His tail is full of glas beads of many colors.  I had him on a birch stump and nearly lost him there as the screws loosened over winter.  Back he goes on his original stand.  He is among the Solomon’s Seal and Lilies if the Valley.6A59F8E6-D566-4827-A574-E1AA8F54E01A.jpeg

@Lilysmom  Love your seahorse. Smiley Happy  He should go near water, maybe. Smiley Happy

I am amazed how your garden art figures withstand your harsh winters.  I am afraid to leave mine out and all we have is rain, if we are lucky, lol.  I still want those doves, lol.

According to Acuweater, we have one more week until the heat rises into the 70's-80's and 90's, and stays there for many months, dreading that, so I figure I have one ore week to finish dividing for the year, actually some plants are beginning to put on a lot of growth, so will have to wait until next spring.  I have been repotting and potting new young plants, must have done around four hundred and counting.

I found someone who will take Iris divisions and daylilies so am happy about that as I hate to throw them away, but cannot use all of them,  so that will be another project after they bloom, remove the crowded plants, divide, and plant.

I really should either have a plant garage sale or sell on ebay, but really don't have time now, and the thought of even more work for me to do, is overwhelming, LOL, as if I am not overwhelmed every day with all that there is to do around here.

@mousiegirl, you need to find someone moving into a new home.  I met someone like you when I was just starting out gardening here and she gave me so many beautiful plants.  Now, years later, when I shop for new plants, I return the favor.  She is one of my best friends.  You are very generous.  If you have a community FB PAGE, you can offer them up there.  We do it all the time.  They go quickly!

Most of my concrete pieces stay out all winter.  No way am I lugging them in and our.  My glass and wrought iron birds stay out as well.

It is so nice to see everything coming up.  I am still keeping annual hanging baskets in at night as we are still having risk of frost.  LM
