A lot of posters seemed to be outraged and offended. All because women are wearing sleeveless clothing.
And a lot are just commenting and expressing their opinions.
But some certainly are riled up.

Heck yes, I'm very riled up. More shirtless men on the news! Or at least muscle Ts. If the current crop of anchor gentlemen can't fit the uniform, let someone else take over.
I'd prefer something pleasant to look at while I hear about the various horrors of the day.

Sounds like to me all the reasons listed. Who knows why and each probably has their own reason but for me it makes me feel cold. I work in an office with heat but I get cold so I would never walk in sleeveless but one lady in the office wears short sleeves all year long. Not sleeveless but short and I am in my corner cold.
Summer cold too and have to layer then also. I can't win.

I say it has nothing to do with studio lights being hot. Most studios are kept cool from what I've heard.
It's about looking good, hot young you name it.
One of our local channels has a weather guy that is downright chubby if not larger. He doesn't have to do anything about it because he's a man. Men can be homely, large, old, whatever and still get the job and keep the job. Woman have to stay fresh, young, flirty.
It's an old stereotype that needs to go away.
I loathe seeing women on the air on any tv channel going sleeveless in the winter especially when they are talking about the horrible cold weather just outside their window!

Fox news like em blond with great teeth. If they were a former Miss anything, that is a plus. In fact if you were in the Miss America contest, good chance you will wind up on Fox and Friends. A beauty pageant is now a prerequisite in to getting in broadcast journalism. The days of the 40 something serious network journalist is long gone.

The well-dressed professional, Gwen Ifill.

I noticed immediately after the first of the January, every woman on television...the ones on shopping channels, news, talk shows had on sleeveless dresses. I don't know the reasoning but it does make me want to go buy dresses.

I think that at FOX the legs are more important than the shoulders and bare arms.
Even on their business station there is often a panel of females at the desk, aptly displaying what we call the "FOX Legcross."
