I still work.  I've always, always been attracted to and like expensive clothes.  Just my taste.  I've had to walk a fine line because I just want them.  I love good quality clothing.  Fast fashion makes me nauseous.  Old Navy, Gap, Forever 21, on and on.  Not just clothes, jewelry. I despise fashion jewelry, silver, fake diamonds, plastic pearls, even fresh water pearls!  Stainless steels (unless it's my cooking utensils) I won't step foot in Walmart and Macy.  But I shop at Nordstrom & Barneys.  I look down at any cabochon stone, garnets, white topaz.  Instead I wear sapphires & rubies with diamonds.  I better continue to work until I die, because I want them.

@AngelPuppy1and @emmysmom -- I'm right there with you!  Within a month of retiring, I bagged up my dressy work clothes and donated them to the Rescue Mission and Goodwill.  It actually felt *good* to (1) clean out my closets and (2) give my clothes to a good cause.  Freeing!   I kept a couple dressy outfits for special occasions, but for the most part, everything in my closets went except for my "weekend" wardrobe.

One of the pieces I kept was a pair of Dialogue black slacks I bought from QVC ages ago.  They fit me perfectly and wear like iron!

Nothing wrong with that!  I have purchased quite a few things there.  You never know what you might find!!!

@songbird, my only objection to your post is that includes demeaning sentiments rather than just stating your preferences. You might take a look at @PamfromCT's last paragraph in Post #18.

@songbird, well, by all means let us know about your upper echelon tastes. I wonder though, how is it that you're following the Q forums? Surely you don't shop for anything on QVC. You might, however, be a bit surprised that there are women here who are quite well set financially and who occasionally find products that fits their needs. I don't quite understand how someone with what seems to be Saks Fifth Avenue tastes is bothering herself with QVC. Thanks for letting us all know what you despise and look down on. Merry Christmas.
