I have a black 3/4 sleeve knee-length dress I bought from Avon in November that is jersey knit. I wore it with black leggings and boots to a New Year's Eve dance. This week, I wore the dress and leggings with black flats, a cropped denim jacket, and a black and white polkadot scarf to work. I think it depends on the dress. Leggings look great with sweater dresses and the long knit tunic/T-shirt dresses.

My nine year old daughter looks cute wearing this style.
I think women look ridiculous.

@lolakimono, The first two looks are really nice. However, I have seen a certain simple dress by JJill for spring that looks really good. It has to be the right dress, I agree, the spring look I am talking about is more like a tee shirt dress is the best way to describe it.

I asked my daughter-in-law just today will I look stupid wearing these at my age? She said no, that I would look very stylish. I too thought I could pull the look off easier with the dress/leggings than a top/leggings.
I am 66 & these are my go-to casino outfits....

I like the look of a longer sheath type dress over pants, like they wear in India.

@Desertdi If Bea Arthur was still alive, she'd probably be selling a clothing line on QVC. I bet it would be very successful too. I always liked her "look". She often wore a pair of silver earrings I'd give anything to be able to buy.
The leggings/dress look is not for me.
