@Shanus: Ouch! BUT, whaddya know - I AM a nine-year-old ballerina, so you'd love me in my leggings.

@sallybusky Sorry for being blunt. If you've read my other posts you've seen I don't sugarcoat my opinions. If you're a 9 year old ballerina, Honey, then dance on!!!

I think leggings are nice but I still think you need to change up with something else. I like jeans for myself or color pants. I also think leggings are nice for very, very thin women and that's not me.

Well the author of the article is no longer a New York fashion editor and I'm going to presume that likely she lost her job in print media as fashion and beauty magazines have downsized or closed as advertising has moved to a digital and social media platform. So her lifestyle has changed and she no longer has to wear high fashion and she's also moved to an area or job where she does not have to be dressed up, thus the yoga wear and a more casual lifestyle. It's understandable that she seems to be mourning her old lifestyle but her schooling and job don't require her to be dressed up. Maybe she would feel out of place if she did get all dressed up like she did when she lived in NYC.
The irony too is that in the article she mentions the Lululemon founder Chip Wilson and his wife Shannon as they are not particularly involved in that company now but they have certainly made a lot of money selling overpriced yoga wear. They own one of the most expensive homes in Vancouver, B.C. Canada, it probably worth at least $50 million dollars. And that store doesn't carry clothes bigger than a missy size 12 either. For whatever reason people really like Lululemon, but anyone not in that size range will have to shop elsewhere for yoga and athleisure clothes.

@Katcat1 Besides leggings being for thin women, I think they also have to be age appropriate & situation appropriate. Althetic wear has become the outfit of choice for running errands and even coming to some volunteer meetings I've attended. There is not a dress code for every day attire because it is assumed that each person knows what is acceptable for where they'll be. I see, in the future, this code having to be followed. If you look at young girls around you today, they are also in print, flowered or solid leggings, mismatched tops & along w/ that goes unbrushed hair and generally unkempt appearance. They no longer have good examples to follow.

@Andreatoo sorry you are upset by my reply. If you read the others, some like their leggings, some think they are tacky, some talk about cellucite or that they show all lumps and bumps. My point is also valid. Just because you think you look good in leggings doesn't mean you really do. Get the opinion of a trusted friend. I can't influence her decision what to put on in the morning. You're correct that I don't know her....but the law of averages work in my favor. Most women do not look well in tight leggings unless very young w/ perfect bodies. If she falls into that category, as I said let her "dance on".

@Andreatoo Have you met her? Let's just agree to disagree on this one.

ding ding ding! We have a winner!
No I haven't which is why I don't presume to tell her ANYTHING about the way she looks in leggings or any other pants for that matter.
The law of averages that you use as the basis for your uncalled for remarks also tells us that she has good friends in her real life that will tell her how she looks; good or bad.
She doesn't need you for that....
