NY Times -- trends for Spring 2016

Drat! Can't get the link to work, but anyway . . .

Designer trends you can expect to see in stores this spring from the runways of New York, London, Paris and Milan fashion weeks.

Of course these things are exaggerated on the runways, but to summarize:

1. Lingerie

2. Shirtdress

3. Shoulders (cold shoulder, anyone?)

4. Designer denim

5. Straps, ribbons & strings

6. Tracksuits

7. Clunky shoes (dig out those GILIs!)

8. Backpacks

I watched this video.  Hmmm, I feel I am open-minded and possess some creative/artistic talents.  However...I just can't embrace some of these very exaggerated creations seriously.  Many of them look like something I could do.  I guess to me the real talent belongs to those who take their inspirations and design what you and I would actually wear.

i can't get over the cold shoulder. donna karan must have started that 20 years ago.  there doesn't seem to be anything new or exciting on the list, but i haven't seen all the pictures yet.

Okay -  one of those years when my fashion fun will be watching but not buying so much!  At least that list tells me I should have a pretty easy year continuing to use down what I already own --and that's not all bad the way I see it.

@MacDUFF, I agree, I decided when I changed my closet out for winter that I am so over cold shoulders. And track suits, what a hoot!

I've never owned a cold shoulder top -- and I don't know why.  I can't say I won't 'go there' if the spirit moves me.  (but I'm still waiting).
