Re: question about underwire in a bra or no underwire

I've never been able to go braless, but Rhonda Shear is the closest thing to it I have ever found

Can anyone answer my question: I seem to be allergic to the fabric of one type of bra. I think it is the polyester (Bali Comfort Revolution) that is a problem?

And I think in my favorite Bali (the discontinued one) is made with nylon.

Rhonda Shear Ahh Divine is nylon/spandex (no poly in this one and I do not seem to be allergic).

Could This Be?

@LTT1

Do you wear other clothing with spandex in it? I'm sure it's possible but my goodness it's everywhere!

@LTT1 I have worn Bali, but not sure of the content. Currently I am wearing "Leading Lady", my tag says 85%nylon, 15% spandex. I would think possibly it could be spandex. Switch to all cotton if possible & see if that works.

@Andreatoo
Thanks! Upon looking into the situation, it seems more like an allergy to polyester than spandex.
Do not know what all the differences are in the man made fabrics.

I avoid most decorative touches like lace and whatever because regardless of how pretty they may be I always find them incredibly irritating. I just picked up 2 Fruit of the Loom cotton bras, 10% spandex, at Walmart for under $14!! Simple underwired t-shirt bras and the fit is perfect! ( I was there for cat food)

I once had a breezies bra that made me itch.  It really looked pretty ,but I hated it.  I have never had any other bra do this to me.

I've never met anyone with an allergy to polyester @LTT1. But I'm certain that it does exist. Have you experienced reactions to all things polyester or just bras? This would make me think that the reactions might be related to 'things' that get trapped within polyester fibers, for example detergents.

Keep in mind you can be sensitive to something not necessarily allergic.

Re: question about underwire in a bra or no underwire

@LTT1-

It might be the latex in the elastic of the bra.

That can be very irritating and easy to be sensitive too.

There are bras by a company called cottonique that have all cotton bras.

I haven't tried any though.

I know lots of types of materials make me itch and latex bandaids. give me a rash and burn.
