Re: long shirt, short jacket

@Jk9

I too am a 5'2" hourglass.

I can't do tunic lengths in general but I'm all for the short jacket.

I'm also a big fan of fall fashion and the layers that come with it; just not so fond of the shirt hanging below the outwear...

For the record I don't hate the look and with a fitted shirt it does look better (to me) than something long and drapey....asymetrical really doesn't work in this instance

Love it!  I do like the top underneath to be slim, not flowy.

Re: long shirt, short jacket

IF the shirt is only slightly longer than the jacket I am fine with it but if the shirt is quite a bit longer than the jacket, I don't like the look.

@Andreatoo, @ms traditional  Logo wear seems to like this look too - too much in fact.

I liked the look that was on Clinton Kelly's show today, as well H by Halston does the look nicely too.

@Andreatoo  I like your play on words in the title too.

Re: long shirt, short jacket

I like it as long as the shirt is not too long and busy. (ruffles etc.)

Re: long shirt, short jacket

I didn't like it at first, but have grown to love the look.  Of course, it depends on the type/size/length of the shirt and the jacket over it, but in general, I like it.

But I digress

How do you feel about the shirts extending beyond the hem of a jacket, sweater, etc.?

Call me a traditionalist but I don't like it..maybe because I'm fond of structure and the mismatched layers is the antithesis of it....

@Andreatoo -

I don't like tops sticking out from under jackets, cardigans, other tops, etc. either. I know it is supposedly fashionable right now and that many people like the look but it always looks sloppy to me.

Re: long shirt, short jacket

I just turned on HSN to see the gorgeous model Victoria wearing the Diane Gilman Blazer, which is already pretty long, with a matching asymmetrical top hanging out of the bottom. It looks like a mistake
