i'm watching video presentation A630490 Laurence Z coats. Shawn tries on a coat ,doesn't even come together ,when he tries to show her how to tie correctly, my question is why wouldn't he mention she needs to go up a size. she is presenting his line and it looks horrible on her. can't the producers see this? when are they going to start telling these hosts to demonstrate with their correct size?

I am also puzzled by the fit issues.  We base our size decisions off of the fit of the models.  Sometimes they are in jackets and they proudly say their size but there is about 18 inches of open space between the two sides of the jacket.  That's not helpful.  That is not how I like my jackets to fit.

And why do they give the height of the model for the size of a jacket. I'm 5'3" but I don't wear a small in anything on top I like to close my jackets in the winter.  They said model is 5'9" and is in a large. Ridiculous.

@willomenia

   I didn't see this video but, putting myself in his shoes, I'd have a hard time telling her in that particular moment (and maybe in any moment) that she had on the wrong size. While I really pride myself on being honest I have a hard time with those sort of things myself...depending on my relationship with the person.

People are sensitive about size, unfortunately, it's a touchy topic. You'd hope that maybe he could mention it to a stylist or someone else in-charge who could then have a discussion about styling the clothes in the best possible light....

That's a tough one

I think the hosts just grab what's on the rack and most of those sizes look like Courtney's size. I think it would be fine, if when the item is too tight, for them to address this and say they should go up a size, or two. That would give the viewers a better point of reference. It always should be about assisting the viewer --- first.

Anytime Shawn puts on a jacket, it looks like it either won't close in the front or would be pulling on the sides if it did.  She must be too vain to go up to her correct size.

I had to watch the video because this is a pet peeve of mine.

QVC often shows jackets that obviously won't close on the person wearing, and they recommend that people wear jackets open.

While I may want to wear my jacket open in some situations, I wear it closed when I am walking, to make sure it's not flopping about, and for a more polished look.  I won't buy a jacket/coat that I can't button up.

The coat that Shawn was wearing was embarrasingly small, like at least 10 inches too small.  I think as a designer showing how to tie the belt, I would have said something like, I want to show how to tie the belt, of course one would do that with the coat buttoned up.  Because I don't think anyone would tie the belt in the front with an 8 inch gap.

The coat was also too small to close on the model who I think they called Morgan.  The only person it fit was Ade.

The presentation was absurd.

There is nothing I want bad enough that I would watch her.

She grabbed the size off the rack 🙄

Shawn always or most often says that she is an x small.  I really love it when she stands next to someone else that is an x small.  Come on Shawn don't take us as idiots;  you are much larger than an x small.
