I going through my clothing and have 2 13 gallon trash bags of donations. Much of it was old or prior retirement or when DH's job had yearly semi formal parties, Much more casual lifestyle now. Noticed a lot of the clothing had embellishments of embroidery or sparkles. Maybe I'm just tired of it but I notice less of it in stores too.

I was never a big fan of them but am thoroughly sick of them now. It is hard to find any tops that aren't all sparkly and embellished. I hope they die out soon.

I think I prefer my own jewelry to embellishments. And I still enjoy my omega style necklaces.

According to New York Magazine, "sparkles and bling" will be hot for the Fall.

I remember back in the late 80's, HSN had these shirts similar in style to a sweatshirt that were heavily embellished and rather expensive. I was on a strict budget back then and really lusted for one of those shirts. The brand was " Bonnie & Bill". Does anyone else remember them?

Diane Gilmore, on HSN, started with embellished tops. I bought my sister one and it looked great. Back then her tops were more whimsical. I also bought a top from HSN - from one of the in-house designs where the tee shirt pattern went all the why around the top. It was an animal theme with birds, leopards, plants, flowers, etc. People always stop me and ask where I got the top. It must be 19 years old. It also had some embellishments but now the sparkles are coming off. Anyway, I like sparkles. Gail
