In the 60's teens and twenties would do this on Saturdays to make it seem like they had a hot date that night. They would just roll up their hair even if it was already set and go to the store. DH sister and friends would do this.

Yep...he has an older daughter & son then many yrs later, 2 more sons. Christie & Cooper are the ones most involved with the business. it will be a sad day when Mr. Hefner is no longer with us...he has such an impact locally & globally...very much a generational culture icon. *Now back to regularly scheduled programming!!"

sidsmom & colliegirls -- I remember the rollers in the hair in public places. Always placed so carefully in rows. The neighbor lady across the street used to say wearing rollers in the day let people know you had special plans later. Plus, it's better to look good for your man when he got home from work than for your kids during the day... Pre- flat irons and hot rollers and the wavy look was in. My mom worked and didn't wear rollers during the day -- she wore the spongy pink things at night. When the wavy look faded -- hello old fruit juice cans and dippity doo.

NO way!!!
We stayed at a really nice Holiday Inn over Christmas.. gorgeous lobby so I was filling our traveling cups from the coffee stand in the lobby, off the elevator came a lady in her pajamas, robe and house slippers... any opinions on this? I personally would never do anything like that.. she looked like she'd just rolled out of bed..

My first job at 18 was in a Hilton hotel in DC. This is nothing! I've seen worse.
