My fear is "credit card debt" .

We have always lived below our means. I don't need many things, but I haven't cut back on every day purchases.

And I pay off all credit card purchases in full.

We have always lived below our means...one reason was because we are self employed...so no other income coming in.  If our business was down we had to adjust accordingly...therfore we never got into the habit of overspending.

We almost always saved for important purchases except for cars, we did out a loan for vechiles.

Cash was paid for roof, driveway, appliances, etc.

I am cautious about what I spend.    I used to buy lots of jewelry years ago but now I am not interested in it as I have plenty.

Clothes and shoes are purchased in person.  I must try them on. There are lots of reasonably priced clothes out there.   Marshall's, Burlington and Kohls are my main stores but I check out others when I am out.  I still enjoy browsing and am physically able still.

Yesterday I bought 2 Tshirts at Old Navy for $8 each.

I need to cut down, and find it hard to do. I usually only purchase on free shipping days unless the "deal"  is too hard to pass on, example, a $5 item here.

I check the items here for sale items and even as-is, and glad I am debt free. I also stocked up on essentials, mainly household food items needed, like coffee, which has shot up so much.

I am 66 now and still work as a nurse educator within our company. I no longer need business clothes. Just a nice pair of slacks and top will do for my job, or even scrubs.

I lost 85 pounds in the last few years and had to purchase new things.

When buying new clothes, I leaned towards Macy's sales, Costco, and Sams Club. I also shop at LLBean and Lands End.

I don't purchase handbags any longer or fancy skin care. I do like Beekman soap and cream for my face. I only wear a tinted sunscreen now, and I like the Jones Road Miracle Balm for my cheeks. I no longer wear eye makeup.

My morning routine is very fast LOL.

I only buy what I need, I don't watch the shopping channels any longer. I don't care about the latest trends, just like to look nice when I go out, but dress mostly casual though.

I try not to worry about things over which I have no control.

I honestly worry a bit about social security but more so for others who have no other income or savings.

I'm on a fixed income - pension & social security and yes I shop but within my means.  I pay my credit cards off every month or twice a month.  I have good savings.

@Desertdi

Same here. Last January stocked up on Belle sale of capri's and other summer pants. Will be my 2nd summer with them and they all look great.

When Laurie Felt was leaving the Q stocked up on her folded cuff relaxed boyfriend jeans. Have plenty of colder weather jeans now.

All at great prices.

Like most people, my DH and I are concerned for ourselves, our children, and everyone in our country.  We are elderly now, in fortunate circumstances, still living in our family home.  We have worked hard and been blessed.  We have had harder times earlier in life, but have survived well, unlike some unfortunate folks.

I do worry, because what we took for granted may be taken away.  I used to volunteer (when I was younger) at a religious home "for the poor."  The first day at orientation was that these people had worked all their lives but had little or nothing at the end.  How right!  They were well taken care of, and I fell in love with all of them.  Plans do go astray - job loss, illness, etc.  I got to hear so many stories, and it left me grateful and very humble.

Yes, I have cut down on spending, as we need nothing.  Except for children, our family agreed to stop spending so much on gifts.  I would rather give to charity, as so many are hurting.  The famine in Sudan breaks my heart, as with so many other terrible need.

I have cut way back on buying clothing on QVC.  I've got more clothes than I will ever need and have decided I don't need to buy anything that I just think is cute.  I do spend lots on certain things, but I've made the conscious decision to change my previous behavior.  I am very concerned with the stock market and future social security.  What once made me comfortable in those areas is no more.
