My friend lives in my neighborhood and we will go out to a nice lunch then do a little bit of holiday shopping. Sometimes it's at Peddler's Village which is a cute touristy shopping center that has different holiday events near my home. Last year when it snowed a couple of inches at night all of the shops were decorated and outlined with lights. It looked just like the Dept. 56 snow village had came alive!

Then we'll come back to my house for a hot drink, dessert and we'll exchange gifts. It's usually a variety of things. A Vera Bradley bag, a scarf, a Brighton piece....we will spend about $100.00 each. It's fun and we have a great time!

We no longer exchange gifts. We're all at the age where we're paring down and getting rid of things. We'd prefer to use the money to spend time together. We go out to dinner every month, and have a special gathering for birthdays and holidays.
