Your Views On Tops That Are Shorter In Front?

Following the style of longer tops, designers went to a "shorter in front" look which in design school was an indication of "too small or too small for the bust".

The "short in front" look also exposes the stomach area which won't go over with a lot of women.

I wish this trend would keep going to the point of disappearance.  Some tops are extreme and look downright silly.

@ECBG - I like this style. It really depends on the fabric and garment design. My tops don't expose the midsection

Some people look wonderful in them, some not so much.  Like everything else.  I am glad to see that women are now more able to wear something "not flattering to their figure" because they like it.

While it isn't everyone's taste, (and of course there are always limits that people observe or not in all clothing) I like that there are lots more options now and options in different sizes.

I prefer my tops are longer in the front, not shorter. I like the leg meets torso area covered.

Re: Your Views On Tops That Are Shorter In Front?

Because of my long torso - i can't buy those tops - entirely too short in front.

Even on this model - the short front sticks out like a maternity top.  It may be the fault of the fabric chosen is a bit too "stiff" for that hi-lo style.  It just doesn't hang properly.

Personally, I like a slight difference in length - front vs. back.

On almost all the knitted / crocheted tops/sweaters I make, I do a slightly longer back - with a sloping hemline.  I think it's a more "graceful" look.

I wish ALL hi/lo, shark bite, uneven hems would go the way of the dodo bird. Very tired of this look.

I think they look sloppy.
