I am not buying them because I don't need anymore shoes, but they don't bother me. I have had some foot problems where these would have been perfect for my feet.
I do wear fluffy slippers in the summertime on occasion when the AC is freezing.
I have seen worse fashion trends that have taken off that I can't figure out and they, IMO, are worse.
Leggings tight enough to be tucked into the cheeks and who ha come to mind, worn with too short a top, or worn with a wide " maternity" top.
It always looks weird to me to see mature ladies dressed this way....l'd rather see the fuzzy shoes.

Thankfully, they are not my thing.

Remember the fuzzy slippers everyone used to have? Our dog took one of my daughters and buried it in the backyard. I am assuming he thought they smelled.

Di Anne,
You made my day! I am still laughing. Thank you for sharing.
P.S. I ordered the TSV in black.

I would think all the extra fabric of faux fur could become very sweaty during the warm months . Guess, this is a hold over from working from home so long . What does anyone else think.
I agree, @skatting44 . I think they are stupid looking..........Wilma Flintstone? They could pass for bedroom slippers, but that is it. I agree about the hold over from working from home remark. Come on people, break out of the living in the cave mentality. If you dare to go outside, wear clothes, not pj's and slippers.

QVC has offered other shoes in this style, by Vince Camuto, A399765.
The WSJ had an article on this trend, which they called the Chunky Slide-On Sandal. These were some of their editorial suggestions:
Celine by Hedi Slimane, $860
Simon Miller, $125
Valentino Garavani, $980
Jacquemus, $563
Balenciaga, $450

I got a dupe of the Zac Posen which at Amazon, which I use for houseshoes. Love them, but not for the grocery store or church. Perhaps to the mailbox but outside otherwise, no.

Just the latest "version" of Birkenstocks.......(for the VERY youthful)

At my age they wouldn't be considered me being trendy but like I forgot to change my slippers before I left the house.

I'd wear them around the house...
