Finally, someone w/ sense!

Jill just said that she is not the type of person who shows off her bags, etc....(although she owns nice things she said) She also said that she would hope that someone would get to know her before judging her on the things that she owns and tha she buys things because she likes them. (in other words, she doesn't give a da** what other people think)! "I'm not that kind of person"-

She said a bit more but this was a quick summary.

In other words, she isn't shallow! How refreshing-

That doesn't mean she isn't shallow.

I thought I read that she had a St John dress on the other night and I know I have seen her sporting a Cartier watch. Add some Yurman, John Hardy and she likes names just as much as many of the rest of us do.{#emotions_dlg.laugh}

Just because a woman loves designer clothing or jewelry certainly doesn't make her shallow. It just makes her a woman who loves looking good...

I agree. I do remember several years ago, when another host was introducing Suzie Orman, she used Jill as an example of someone who had had a lot of credit card debt and had to work hard to resolve it. At the time, I thought it seemed rude to use Jill as an example and I wondered if anyone had run the idea past her. Does anyone else remember that intro? I want to say it might have been Patti Reily. Obviously, it was a long time ago, I think before she was married.

I remember what you are talking about but I am not sure who the host was that she was helping.. Was it Lisa because I thought she was trying to save up to buy a house and wanted tips on how to re-structure her finances.

I think it was Lisa, not Jill. (probably part of the sales pitch though--doubt hosts would discuss their personal finances)

Jill spends mega bucks on her on-air wardrobe. They generally do not flatter, IMO. For example: the two tone leather top worn in her silver show. Complimented neither the jewelry nor her.

I agree, her face and hair looked great, she's a pretty woman and her hair style is perfect for her face. But that top...ugh, who would look good in that?

She is very pretty but unfortunately does not have much style or fashion sense, IMO. Money can buy nice things but that's about it.

I agree. I didn't know she spent lots on clothes, just always thought she didn't take advantage of style or fashion and dressed a bit dowdy and too mature. She has beautiful skin and a pretty face, I think. A fanatic Bobbi Brown gal.

I bristle when I hear a host talk about self high end purchases, vacation homes, pools, country clubs etc. Probably most of the viewing audience cannot identify with any of it. We just buy from QVC so the hosts can indulge in extravagance. They work for their money, no question about it, but don't brag about it on national tv. Except for a couple of hosts, I don't believe I heard any of the others mentioning personal possessions or material assets - it's just low class to brag

Humble and stylish are not adjectives I'd use to describe the host in question.

Someone mentioned would you rather the host wear clothes from Walmart. If they fit properly they'd look better than the ill fitting designer duds some of them wear.

There is an old saying "" sell to the masses but live with the classes"" sound familiar?

I heard this before but I think it was another host, maybe Runyan.

Jill is awesome! She's The Real Deal-- wife, mom, and hardworking woman. What more can we ask for?? I personally think she is the definition of a lady. It's a breath of fresh air in this hard world we're living in.

Which just goes to show how different all our perceptions can be...

Guess this is a big reason why QVC employs different personalities and host types...

I agree with Stevieb

not a fan of J, that "straight shooter" demeanour doesn't fly with me. But it would be boring if all the hosts were clones
