Until the last few years black shoes with navy clothes was the only option. Navy shoes were absent from dept stores! Now, people consider black shoes with navy the standard choice; also, it's vertually impossible to match navys!

Navy with Black is Fantastic! Wear your new Black strappy evening sandals with confidence - enjoy the Wedding!

Another vote for mixing navy and black--especially strappy black dressy shoes. Good suggestions to tie them together with black jewelry and bag. Black jet beads would be stunning-the shinier the better
I think the combination is very elegant and chic. I am not a fan of light shoes with very dark clothing. I like my tones to blend.

What time is the wedding? Is it casual or dressy? I am thinking it is dressy because you said ""evening shoes."" I watch Project Runway and I keep hearing and reading not to be too ""matchy-matchy"" and also that wearing black and navy is very ""now."" I would definitely wear the strappy black sandals with the navy. I would also ramp up accessories such as jewelry and carry a small bag/clutch.

Agree.

That would look fine, so I would wear them. I don't think people pay too much attention to other people's shoes anyway. Have a great time!

ITA with everyone who gave the big thumbs up to the navy and black! For as long as I can remember it has been a smart, chic look! I didn't realize it's 'the latest thing'--who knew?! And I love the idea of black jet beads that azterry! suggested!

I have seen lots of dresses mixed with navy and black ... I cannot see why you can't wear the black shoes with the navy dress ... enjoy the wedding & kick off your shoes and dance the night away!!! .. I too am a Sandy survivor .. good luck to you.

Navy and black are being mixed all over, so yes you can. I personally don't care for navy and black together and wouldn't, myself. But if you're happy with the look it's perfectly acceptable.
