I have a couple of nice bags, but I am just as apt to carry something from Wal-mart so bag snobs should be judging ME.
I am carrying a little bag today that I picked up at one of those casino gift shops were everything is $10-15, so I sure have no room to judge anyone else on their bag.
Now I DO notice, and compliment, pretty bags because I do just love them, but I never think less of anyone who is carrying a cheaper bag. I think that's just silly and superficial.

Call me shallow but I notice everything about someone if I see them walk right past me or I am spending any amount of time speaking to them. Eyes, hair, teeth, smile, clothing, shoes, jewelry, handbag...you name it.
I guess if you aren't the least bit interested in these things, you don't notice.
However, I don't judge someone based on their handbag or jewelry. I do form an opinion and I guess judge someone if they are slovenly looking or out and about in pajamas.

Funny, I never notice handbags.
If I notice anything, it's a cute hairstyle. I guess because that's what I obsess about for myself.
I also might notice a pretty top, cool shoes, or a pretty ring or earrings. Again, these are things I like and focus on myself.
If appropriate, I will compliment the person...and ask them where they get their hair done..lol.
But I don't feel that I "judge." Unless it's something really unusual..like the time I was walking down the street in Portland, ME, and a woman walked by with two huge round holes cut into the bottoms of her jeans that exposed her "cheeks" perfectly.

If someone is slovenly-looking, I may notice and wonder why? I probably used to wonder "how could they not look in the mirror and notice ... (whatever)?" But, it was usually a fleeting thought. Now, I know better.

The real pathetic part is not that women judge each other, but that women care about being judged.
Think about it. Why wonder what strangers are thinking about us?

I go by "what others think of me is none of my business". Took me years to get to this place but once I did it was very freeing.

You may think you don't notice someone's handbag, but you get an over-all impression and judge that person based on that impression. Posts above stated "I don't notice handbags UNLESS . . . . ."
Think of 2 women - one is carrying a tie-dyed cotton sling bag, the other is carrying a leather or faux leather handbag. What immediately pops in your head about each one?
Can't really go by that. There are well-to-do people who would carry either bag...

She's trying to sell handbags. What's she supposed to say? If she were selling watches, she'd probably say "women judge each other by their watches." It's about selling the product.

We do judge on appearance and your handbag is part of that. It may be a sad statement on society, but IMO it rings true. Is is right, NO! You can't judge any important human qualities by the handbag -- kindness, character, dignity, compassion, etc....
