So I read their story and of course applaud their commitment to inclusivity.  But not sure why that has to result in utterly plain, uninspired, untailored garments.  Maybe its a secret plan to get us to buy a lot of jewelry and scarves?!

The sizing chart is a doozy.  I have enough trouble with Chico's non-standard sizing.  Can't imagine how many returns they will be getting on early orders because of shoppers not realizing the bizarre sizing, but frankly, it serves them right.

I see a wide variety of clothing styles because I don't shop in just one place.  I have favorite sites and stores I like to shop from most of the time, but if I can't find what I'm dying for in one those stores I keep looking.

My guess in answer to the OP, is that they are providing the same kinds of clothing because they can.  Nothing more, nothing less.

Their website has some cute styles. I had to laugh that now I would be a medium in their clothing.

I love Universal Standard. I liked what was offered. I hope they bring a fall line.

@RollTide2008    How do you see it as being different from every other line being offered?

I am thinking they got a focus group together, different sizes and asked them what they liked. Whatever corresponded to the type of clothes already being produced by the contracted company, they used. Determining outcome in advance ensures agreement but not necessarily robust sales. Fashion is not the same as style.

Very interesting web site. I saw a few items of interest and I plan to go back and check them out further when I have more time.  Don't see the sizing as a deal breaker but can't comment until I try it for myself.

I watched the show out of curiosity. Jennifer said the AVERAGE clothing size of women in the US is an 18. WHAT? When did that happen? I thought it was a 14.

So sizing for this line shows the size 18 as a Medium.

I think there could be lots of returns due to wrong sizes purchased. We'll see. But I sure had no idea that women's average clothing size had increased to an 18. Guess I've missed something.
