I was shopping at a very nice ladies shop yesterday. I saw Karl Lagerfelds new clothes for winter. He has come out with blouses and tops with beautiful collars. I purchased 3 of his new tops. I am at the age when I don't like to wear tops without a collor. All of the designers have vneck, round neck, boat neck and they try to convince all of us that they make us look wonderful. Denim and company is on right now and it is the same design just different material. I hope Karl has started a trend of new and different clothes. The saleslady said they have more clothes up to 65% off because ladies are not buying the same collections over and over.

I'm with you. I love funky collars on clothes. I think they make a statement and can really make the outfit.

I like collars as well because they help give me shoulder definition and bring interest to the face. Also, in my case, they help with de-emphasizing my long neck.

One nice thing about D&C is that there's a little bit of everything, to suit everyone. I do see collared tops but many wonen want to wear a top with a beautiful necklace or scarf, which are most compatible with tops without collars. I bought a D&C collarless fleece coat a few weeks ago. I prefered a collar, so before I even received the coat, I went to Etsy and ordered a wool-like cowl neck handmade infinity scarf that looks smashing with the coat.

@Kachina624 and the beauty of that coat is that you'll be able to change the look with different scarves. 😊

Vee necks are fine for me, but jewel necks are terrible...I think it's a cheaper way to make the clothing that has gotten so high priced that you really have to be careful what you are purchasing.

It's just the dirction style has gone. It will swing back eventually.
I remember the big beautiful collars on blouses that went almost to the shoulder seam. Some had beautiful cut work. I loved those!

I'm a huge fan of collars that do not have the band, like shirts have.
I think (but could be wrong), they began in the war years due to trying to save on material and construction costs, but the end result was a graceful and beautiful collar.
